When Steven McBee Jr., the eldest brother from the McBee farming clan and star of the reality series The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, stepped in front of the camera to publicly introduce his new relationship with influencer Allie Eklund it felt like a bold move one that quickly became a social-media moment for the ages. On November 3 he posted a carousel of photographs that left little doubt about where his heart stands. In one frame he and Eklund share a kiss, in another they embrace on the red carpet of the Community Services League’s Luminous Gala, and throughout the sequence his caption simply states, “Never been so certain.”
Even in an era of staged announcements and choreographed slideshows the moment feels genuine. The two show up in a series of images worn comfortable in each other’s company the sort of behind-the-scenes closeness we’ve come to expect from creatives, but delivered by a Missouri-based cowboy turned reality-TV leading man.
Eklund wrote on her own Instagram Story that she was his “hot date and host,” referencing McBee’s role as emcee at the gala, and later posted an image of them holding hands in a car. McBee then reposted that same image, along with a string of congratulatory comments from his family. His brother Cole’s partner Kacie Adkison wrote “smartest thing you’ve ever done,” while Jesse’s wife Alli Ventresca cheered “Yay love this! Summer and I approve for Uncle Steven.”
What makes the reveal feel especially poignant is the backdrop of McBee’s recent romantic history. He and Calah Jackson met on the reality dating show Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, endured a volatile on-off relationship, and ultimately separated for good. In July McBee told People they had “been broken up since the end of Season 2” of The McBee Dynasty.
He described their time together as something that couldn’t be salvaged and said he would rather start fresh with someone new than dig through the damage of the past. The rollout of his relationship with Eklund reads like that fresh start. McBee credits a mutual friend William Van Orsdel with facilitating their first date after Eklund initially ignored his direct messages, writing “Went from a DM (actually DMs) floating in Allie’s inbox to actually getting a date locked down thanks to Will hahahaha.”
In Eklund McBee appears to have found both a partner and a collaborator. The red carpet photos show them working the event together him hosting, her by his side and the captioned stills lean into a joint identity rather than two starlets orbiting separate lives. The public stamping of approval from the McBee family amplifies the moment. It’s one thing to share a post, but another to have family tags, emojis, supportive comments and full social-media validation visible for fans and followers to see. It signals that this may well be a relationship built not just on flirtation, but on an emerging foundation of stability.
Fans of reality-TV love a good redemption arc and McBee has one in the making. After navigating family drama, business pressures, and romantic turbulence, he now introduces a significant other to his world with confidence. Eklund’s presence appears to complete a picture of a modern cowboy turned public figure who is ready to lean into both love and limelight. Their debut together at the gala hands clasped in a car, arms wrapped around each other under flashbulbs, a caption that speaks for itself reads like the opening pages of a magazine feature.
It remains to be seen how much of Eklund will join McBee’s life on camera and whether their story will extend onto future seasons of The McBee Dynasty. But judging by this launch their entry is both deliberate and elevated. The black-tie event, the affectionate frames, the supportive family tags all combine to cast this not as a cameo romance, but a concerted introduction to the public and a signal of intent. McBee’s “never been so certain” may well come to define his next chapter in love as much as in business.
