Noah Sheline, father of 4‑year‑old Arleigh and ex‑partner of Love Island USA contestant Huda Mustafa, has spoken out against the wave of online negativity targeting Huda following her appearance on the show. He took to social media on Monday, June 16, appealing for empathy and urging viewers to remember that Huda is a person with feelings and responsibilities beyond reality television .

In a heartfelt TikTok statement, Sheline reminded fans that Huda made the decision to join the show in search of love or companionship and emphasized that regardless of public opinion, she remains a human being with a daughter and a life outside the villa. He expressed disappointment in the volume and tone of the hateful comments directed at her and underscored that the vitriol is neither fair nor harmless.

Sheline noted the toll of such online abuse, particularly on mental health, and stressed that their daughter Arleigh is likely to be affected as she matures and becomes aware of public scrutiny. His priority, he said, is protecting his child’s emotional wellbeing. He urged respect out of consideration for her development rather than simply supporting Huda.

He went on to clarify that he is not seeking to monitor every comment made about Huda or maintain a public presence, but he felt compelled to speak out because of concern over how destructive behavior online can be. Although he acknowledged Huda may have made choices that disappointed some viewers he argued that crossing the line into bullying or harassment is unwarranted and toxic .

With the hashtag #doitforarleigh Sheline appealed directly to internet users to reflect on their online actions and adopt a more thoughtful, compassionate approach. He expressed frustration at needing to defend her, but cited respect for their shared daughter as reason enough. It was important to him that Huda sees that her worth extends beyond what she does on-screen

Sheline reassured that he still cares for Huda as the mother of their child, though he stressed that this does not equate to rekindling their relationship. He emphasized that his request stemmed from genuine concern rather than any desire to influence her personal life. He reiterated that there is no intention to rejoin the reality series if offered

The online backlash follows Huda’s often confrontational behavior in the villa. She paired with Jeremiah Brown at the start of season seven, but tensions arose when America voted to recouple him with bombshell Iris Kendall. Huda reacted furiously, confronting both Jeremiah and Iris and earning the nickname “hurricane Huda” from co‑stars and viewers alike.

Some fans took to X and TikTok to demand her removal from the villa citing her volatile demeanor while others defended her right to show emotion in a competitive reality setting. Amid these divided opinions Sheline’s plea for decency served as a reminder of the boundary between on-screen drama and human vulnerability.

Other Islanders have offered their perspectives as well. Belle‑A Walker, eliminated in an early episode, recently spoke up to defend Huda and Jeremiah. She described them as sincere and caring toward their fellow contestants and believed their behavior deserved more understanding

Despite the turmoil Huda remains in the villa for now. In a dramatic elimination round following Jeremy’s recoupling she avoided being sent home when other Islanders chose to save her over another single contestant

The season continues to air daily, excluding Wednesdays, on Peacock and the dialogue around Huda’s portrayal is growing increasingly intense. Sheline’s statement introduces an important perspective. It highlights the unintended effects of online commentary on individuals and their families, beyond the confines of television and entertainment.

Ultimately it serves as a reminder that reality TV participants come with lives, histories and loved ones off-camera. While viewers are free to critique performance or behavior, Sheline’s appeal underscores the impact of public shaming. As Arleigh grows, the words spoken now could resonate long term in ways that are hard to predict.

Sheline’s message makes clear that kindness is more than a suggestion. It becomes an appeal grounded in responsibility and care. The call to action he represents reminds audiences that humane discourse matters, especially when children and families are indirectly involved.
