Influencers Sami Clarke and JT Barnett have formally announced their divorce just shy of their one-year wedding anniversary, revealing that their paths are parting after eight years together.
On October 5, Clarke, whose fitness and lifestyle brand Form co-founded her public persona, shared a somber but resolute “life update” on her Instagram Stories with her 602,000 followers. She wrote: “My life is shifting and I’m moving into a new chapter apart from JT. It’s truly hard to put into words how tough this feels, but I trust it’s the right step forward for me. I’ll forever be grateful for the love and memories we shared for these past eight years together. Thank you for giving us space and grace as we move through this new chapter.”
Barnett, 33 and founder of the media group Creator X, responded with his own message, admitting that the separation resulted from Clarke’s decision. He emphasized in his statement that there were no relational issues or drifting apart, but rather her intuition that the relationship needed to end. He described the breakup as deeply painful, writing: “I love her … this is a tragedy. I miss the person I love and this whole thing has been really sad.”
They were married on November 16, 2024, after a courtship that dates back to 2017. The pair had announced their engagement in 2021, though they had experienced a brief separation in 2023 when Clarke stepped away to focus on herself. They ultimately reconciled and proceeded with their union.
In April 2025, Clarke and Barnett purchased their first home together in Austin, a milestone that had seemed to cement their partnership’s next phase. The sudden announcement of their divorce underscores how quickly dynamics can shift, even for couples immersed in public life and milestones.
Despite their public profiles, both asked for privacy and understanding from followers and media in the wake of their split. Clarke asked for grace as she transitions into her new chapter. Barnett acknowledged the announcement was necessary due to their public presence, though he would have preferred to keep it private.
Their relationship had long held interest as a blueprint for influencer collaborations: Clarke and Barnett often aligned their public projects, appeared in each other’s content, and celebrated key life events together. Their split highlights how personal and public spheres collide in influencer cultures.
As they begin life apart, fans and observers alike may wonder how this separation will shape their personal brands, content direction, and future collaborations. The narrative they now command is not about unity or romance but change, resilience, and boundaries.
