Influencer Ash Trevino Pleads Guilty to Fraud Charges and Agrees to Pay More Than $16,000

Controversial social media personality Ash Trevino has entered a guilty plea in a Texas fraud case, bringing a significant legal chapter closer to resolution months after her initial arrest attracted widespread attention online.

Trevino, whose full name is Ashley Lopez-Trevino, pleaded guilty on August 5 to welfare fraud and fraudulent securing of document execution, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The 37-year-old influencer accepted a plea agreement that includes financial restitution, community supervision and additional requirements.

Under the agreement, Trevino will serve two years of community supervision and complete 120 hours of community service. She must also participate in an anti-theft program and pay $16,799.95 to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Her attorney did not immediately provide additional comment following the plea. The development represents a major change from Trevino's position immediately after her first arrest. She was taken into custody on felony charges in Texas on December 17 and later released after posting a $15,000 bond.

Prosecutors alleged that she had violated conditions of her bond by consuming alcohol on one occasion and purchasing alcohol on another. Her legal team disputed those accusations at the time and denied that she had violated her bail conditions.
